A Call to Action

If anyone doubted the severity of the threat to Florida’s coastal fisheries, the large fish kill in the Indian River Lagoon system should be enough to convince you. And if you forgot already, go back a few months and find the photos and reports of the fish kills and massive seagrass dieoff in Florida Bay. Or go back a few weeks and find the same for the Caloosahatchee River and St. Lucie River. Wait, you don’t have to back in time – those things are still happening! It’s all because of water mismanagement by the state of Florida!
If you are a recreational angler, you should be pissed off! Where will you fish now?
If you are a fishing guide, you should be pissed off! Where will you take your clients now?
If you are a commercial fisherman you should be pissed off! How will you make a living now?
If you are a resident and never fished in your life, you should be pissed off! How do you like those declining property values?
If you are a tourist you should be pissed off! How long before we get health warnings to not touch the water in the Lagoon?
So what are you going to do about it? TAKE BACK OUR WATER!
